LCD ist ein Fl\u00fcssigkristallbildschirm, der zur Anzeige dient, und LED ist eine lichtemittierende Diode, die zur Beleuchtung dient. LCD ist eine Display-Technologie, LED ist eine Lichtemissions-Technologie. Der sogenannte LED-Fernseher bezieht sich im Gegensatz zum CCFL-Fernseher auf die Hintergrundbeleuchtung des Fl\u00fcssigkristalls. Der Kristall selbst emittiert kein Licht und ben\u00f6tigt eine andere Lichtquelle, um aufzuleuchten; traditionelle Fl\u00fcssigkristalle verwenden CCFL als Hintergrundlichtquelle, also kompakte Energiesparlampen; heute kann LED als Hintergrundlichtquelle verwendet werden, daher gibt es LED-Fernseher. Der von uns erw\u00e4hnte LED-Bildschirm ist ein v\u00f6llig anderer Bildschirm als der LCD-Bildschirm. OLED ist LCD \u00e4hnlich.
